One of the most difficult things to do, yet we as Christians believe that we have surrendered all on the Lord, but have we?
Surrendering takes humility, takes guts, takes the courage to say know when it is not right with your spirit, to be at the mercy of something else, a stronger force. Yet we surrender ourselves to things that should not have any power over us; that niggling thought in the back of our heads that tells us we are not worthy of God’s love, to those feelings of overwhelming emotion wrapped in sin, to the pressures of the world and their standards of what is a ‘cool kid’. To surrender to those things and not to Jesus is baffling, yet we do it. Every. Single. Day.
So then, my brothers and sisters, because of God’s great mercy to us, I appeal to you: offer yourselves as a living sacrifice to God, dedicated to his service and pleasing to him. This is the truest worship that you should offer.
God had to check me real quick! Surrendering to Him in full is a humbling experience, letting go of those passed misdemeanors, the passed hurt, remembering that they are now behind you because you have surrendered. It also means to surrender your future, He truly has your best interest at heart.
2 Samuel 22:33
God-His way is perfect; the word of the Lord is pure. He is a shield to all who take refuge in Him.
Read the word, talk to God and learn who you are surrendering to.
